Hello people!
21/08/08 is the day for the 1st Peoples Open Golf Tournament at this years Open Championship venue- Royal Birkdale
I'm in the field, as is one of my good friends.
I was wondering, who?, if any of you are competing also?
If so come and have a chat anytime. Be nice to have a talk with you before the big day!!
For those of you not in the know about it, I'll explain:-
The Tournement will be scored in the Stableford format, which means it'll be really 'Open' to anyone.
For some strange reason, there wasnt a whole lot interest, with only 70 or so players actually entering registration into it. Therefore the Regional qualifying was cancelled and now we go straight to what was going to be the Final Venue.... Royal Birkdale.
I suppose you could say its our gain!! Especially for only £75 when to play Birkdale in August is heading towards £175 for just one round!!! BARGIN!!!
People go and have a look on the site *****pogt.co.uk (****://*****pogt.co.uk) as next years venue is at Turnberry! Again the venue for for the 2009 Open Championship.
This really is going to be a special event folk.
