I played my first 18 holes at Whittlebury on Tuesday, the first time I've played there in months. Purely because I'm also a member at Overstone, and as Overstone is walking distance from work I've found myself playing there much more often.
Anyway, I soon realised how much I missed their fast greens. Overstone is nice, and quite an easy course to play, but their greens are rather bumpy and don't run any where near as true as they do at Whittlebury. I know remember why I do enjoy playing at Whittlebury.
They course is much better kept, their greens are nice, sharp and fast! (not as fast as the Northamptonshire County though). The club house is nice too, and the power tees on the driving range is a nice touch. My main complaint about Whittlebury though is the extremely poor drainage on the course when it rains, at least that was the story last year.
